Healthy Toasted Muesli

Preparation time: 15 mins
Cooking time: 45 mins but allow some time for cooling

1 cup rolled oates (90g)
¼ cup unprocessed bran (15g)
¼ cup finely chopped dried apricots (35g)
¼ cup finely chopped dried apples (20g)
2 tablespoons sultanas
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon water
1 cup skim milk (250ml)

 

Combine the oats, bran and dried fruit in large bowl, stir in the combined honey and water.

 

Spread mixture onto oven tray and bake in a low oven for about 45 minutes or until toasted, stirring occasionally. Let it cool.

Muesli can be served just with milk, or add yogurt and fresh fruit if desired.

This healthy breakfast recipe serves 2, but the ingredients above can be multiplied if you want to make more muesli (recommended).

Per serving: 4.4g fat; 1433kj

Storage: Muesli can be kept in an airtight container for several weeks, make sure it is kept in a cool, dry place.
